Marie Guagenti is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, painting, and drawing. She currently lives and works in Fairfax, Virginia. Her love for art and material exploration began as a child. Her mother began taking her to art classes during Guagenti's childhood, causing art supplies to enter the home, allowing her to examine various mediums. She began her studies with painting as her focus but quickly changed mediums after discovering sculpture and developing a love for working with steel. Guagenti works with metal and found objects to create abstract geometric works. She often explores gender stereotypes by using materials such as thread with her steel forms. Guagenti got her BFA in sculpture at George Mason University's School of Art in 2024 and she received the outstanding student academic award for studio art . Her artwork has been featured in multiple student art shows at the Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University. Guagenti had her works published in the spring 2023 and fall 2024 issues of Volition.
